<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder composition for mold making which can obtain a mold having sufficient strength without complicating a production process, and to provide a method for producing a mold using the binder composition for mold making. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The binder composition for mold making includes: an acid curable resin; water; and the chloride of a metal(s), wherein, the acid curable resin includes one or more condensation products or co-condensation products between one or more selected from the group consisting of furfuryl alcohol, phenols and urea with aldehydes, and furfuryl alcohol, and the above metal is an alkaline-earth metal and/or a zinc group element.
