<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform image transfer and image processing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An image forming device includes an engine part EGN which is composed of a scanner unit 1 to read images and a plotter unit 4 to form images on printing media, and a controller CTR which stores the read image data and transmits the stored image data to the engine part EGN. The engine part EGN includes an image processor 2 which processes image data of images that are read by the scanner unit 1, an engine CPU 5 which divides the read image data into band units that are composed of an optional number of lines, and a skip controller 3d which transmits the image data processed by the image processor 2 to the controller CTR and determines the existence of white image areas for each band.
