<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interphone system that increases the opportunities for presenting information to a user. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The control part 15 of a master set 1 allows a monitor 12 to display image data of information, when the latest information is transmitted from a center device 3, and display image data of the latest information stored in a memory 17, when an announcement of the no need for transmitting the latest information is transmitted from the center device 3. Thus, the latest information to be transmitted from the center device 3 is displayed on the monitor 12 of the master set 1, together with the image of a visitor imaged by a slave set 2. Consequently, the latest information to be transmitted from the center device 3 is presented to the user, without the user (resident of a dwelling unit) intentionally operating the master set 1, thereby increasing opportunities to present information to the user.
