PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound having action on the improvement of gastrointestinal motility function and suppressing occurrence of side effects. SOLUTION: There is provided the following new compound which is rich in binding affinity to serotonin receptor 4 (5HT<SB>4</SB>) and does not cause the onset of arteritis, clot formation or the like: 4-amino-5-chloro-2-methoxy-N-[(2S, 4S)-1-ethyl-2-hydroxymethyl-4-pyrrolidinyl]benzamide, or a metabolite of its acid additive salt of 4-amino-5-chloro-2-methoxy-N-[(2S, 4S)-2-hydroxymethyl-4-pyrrolidinyl]benzamide.
