1,266,584. Shaft couplings. JEAN WALTERSCHEID K.G. 20 June, 1969 [21 June, 1968], No. 31252/69. Heading F2U. Correct angular positioning of the elements of a splined coupling is ensured by bevelling the ends of the appropriate spline lands of one member to allow their passage over a spring detent in the other member, the other lands being square ended to prevent their passage. In the arrangement shown for use with shafting incorporating two Hooke's joints, two diametrically opposite external lands of one member 1 have bevelled ends 2, the other member 5 having a peripheral groove 4 housing a semicircular spring bail 6 with inturned ends 3 projecting through openings in member 5 to form detents. |
