An area projection system (20) for reproducing a visual signal (2) on a surface (1), comprising a light source (4), a fibre element (5) comprising a plurality of light guide elements (3), a carrier element (6) and imaging optics (7), wherein the fibre element (5) comprises a first end (8a) and a second end (8b), wherein the first end (8a) of the fibre element (5) is arranged on the light source (4) and the second end (8b) of the fibre element (5) is arranged on the carrier element (6), wherein the imaging optics (7) are arranged on the second end (8b) of the fibre element (5), wherein the area projection system (20) is adapted to transmit a visual signal (2) from the light source (4) to the fibre element (5) and subsequently to the imaging optics (7), and wherein the imaging optics (7) are adapted to reproduce the visual signal (2) on a surface (1).
