<p>The industrial product presented as novel is a smart modular urban column designed to promote integration of current and future public services into a single unit that includes an instantaneous earthquake alarm connected to the earthquake-alert-emitter system, such as the Earthquake-alert system of the Earthquake Instrumentation and recording centre, a loudspeaker for issuing instructions and information during and after emergencies, a dedicated recycling bin, illuminated street, district and adjacent street signage, a "You are here" area map, expansion bays for installing a slip-issuing machine for a parking-metre system, providing a service to the public, and optional items, such as a message centre, rubbish bin, coin-operated public telephone kiosk, 060 freephone service, metro/bus signboard, post box, etc., etc., involving the incorporation of various items into the column originally presented, including, alone or in combination, as required, a collection centre, rubbish recycling, telephone, anti-bacterial gel dispenser or water (drinking) fountain, folding bench, "valet-parking" panel, newspaper/magazine and/or tourist-information kiosk, a bin for supplying free publications, ticket dispenser, post box, parking meter and kiosk fitted with an awning for providing a shoe-cleaning service, for example.</p> |
