Compounds of formula (wherein R1 is an alkylamino, cyclohexylamino, 1-piperidino or 4-morpholino group, R2 is a halogen or a C 1-8 alkyl or alkoxy group, and n is 0, 1 or 2) are prepared by reacting the appropriate optionally substituted aniline with the appropriate α-amino-α-methyl-propionyl halide. The latter is prepared by reacting an α-amino-α-methyl-propionic acid with a halogenating agent.
