Gearbox comprising a first (2) and a second (4) primary shaft each connected by a clutch (C1, C2) to an engine, each primary shaft being able to be connected to auxiliary shafts (62, 300) connected to the outlet of the gearbox, by direct gear ratios, at least one transfer connection (T) engaged by a synchronizer (58) interconnecting the two primary shafts with a reduction of the speed of the second primary shaft (4) with respect to the speed of the first primary shaft (2), in order to produce at least one additional gear ratio, characterized in that the synchronizer (58) of the transfer connection (T) is used furthermore to prepare the engagement by a dog clutch (14, 28) of a higher gear ratio connected to the second primary shaft (4), thereby braking this second primary shaft so as to synchronize its speed.
