The method involves displaying a volume data set (V) of a test object (2) in a projection image (B) i.e. digital subtraction angiography image, by a computer (3). A vascular system of the test object is segmented in the volume data set. The pixel data values of each pixel on which the computer does not image the vascular system are evaluated and/or the pixel data values are modified. The modified projection image is displayed to an operator (15) of a computer by a display device (14) for evaluation. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program for processing two dimensional projection image of a test object (2) a data carrier storing computer program for processing two dimensional projection image of a test object (3) a computer storing program for processing two dimensional projection image of a test object.
