<p>Provided is a liquid crystal display panel having a narrower picture frame region than that of the prior art. The liquid crystal display panel comprises a liquid crystal layer (42) interposed between a first substrate (10) and a second substrate (20), and a seal portion (32) enclosing the liquid crystal layer and formed of a seal material containing a photocurable resin and conductive beads. In the first substrate (10), a non-display region has a recess (14a), in which an organic insulating film (14) is not present. At least a portion of a black matrix (22a) overlaps the recess (14a). The seal portion (32) is partially disposed in the recess (14a). An opposed electrode (24) is not formed in that region of the second substrate (20) which faces the recess (14a).</p> |
