The method involves arranging fabric blank outer sides on top of each other, and closing the circumference of a fabric blank (3) of an upper chamber under releasing of a passage within an area of a separating plane. A tear seam (4) is connected between fabric areas (7) and a lower edge of a gas bag (1) e.g. head thorax airbag. The fabric areas are connected at the circumference under formation of a separating level. A fabric blank of a lower chamber is everted, so that the tear seam forms an edge of the gas bag. Open sections of the fabric blanks are closed. An independent claim is also included for a gas bag comprising an opening.
