A process for removing a dibenzofulvene-amine adduct, which comprises bringing a reaction mixture containing a dibenzofulvene-amine adduct into contact with carbon dioxide and then removing the formed carbonate of the dibenzofulvene -amine adduct, said reaction mixture being a reaction mixture obtained by reacting an amino acid compound protected with an Fmoc group with an amine compound having at least one hydrogen atom attached to the nitrogen atom to deblock the amino acid compound; and a process for removing a dibenzofulvene-amine adduct, which comprises adding an amine compound having at least one hydrogen atom attached to the nitrogen atom to a reaction mixture of deblocking of an amino acid compound protected with an Fmoc group either during the deblocking or after the deblocking to obtain a mixture containing a dibenzofulvene-amine adduct, bringing this mixture into contact with carbon dioxide, and then removing the formed carbonate of the dibenzofulvene-amine adduct.
