<p>Compounds of general formula:- (I) R1 and R2 are same or different H, halogen, lower alkyl, alkoxy, OH, acyloxy, NH2, acylamino or acyl, or condensed together form an aromatic nucleus, e.g. benzenic. Starting materials for preparation of medicaments e.g. antipyretics, histaminolytics, and reserpine antagonists. Compds. I themselves have antipyretic, antiphlogistic, sedative and analgesic properties. Formulated as compressions, tablets, dragees, syrups, elixirs, suppositories, etc. and administered in 10-200 mg., preferably 30-50 mg., doses. and CO2 gas added. Precipitate of 2-chloro-3-(2'-hydroxy-benzoylamino)-pyridine (IV) recrystallised from isopropanol, M.Pt. 193-5 deg. 10 g. (IV) dissolved in a soln. of 2.5 g. KOH in 10 ml. water and evaporated under low press. Residue agitated under N2 for 3 hrs. in oil-bath at 230-250 deg. Recrystallised from tetralin. Product Ia, M.Pt. 280-2 deg.</p> |
