摘要

A paper notes identification apparatus for performing identification handling for the paper notes such as banknotes, checks, bills and exchange coupons. The paper notes identification apparatus reads images of front-back both sides on the paper notes, and generates multiple kinds of image data, while managing the image data with a minimal size representing each of some characteristic portions the paper notes have in accordance with multiple kinds of generated image data. This ensures to shorten the amount of time required for storage processing of the image data of the paper notes as well as to reduce the usage capacity of memory devices including RAM and HDD for storing the image data of the paper notes.
