The brake system e.g. ramp brake system (4), has a trailer sides-related wheel brake (13) provided for wheels of a trailer and a trailer-side actuation device (22), and a part of steering systems of the trailer formed during a hand-guided shunting operation of the trailer. A part of the wheel brake is electrical-mechanical or electro-hydraulic adjusted, attached to a closed trailer-side power supply (41) and wheel-individual controlled by the actuation device. The wheel brake is controlled by the actuation device by interconnection of a control device (21).
