The invention relates to a universal interface (S) for a wireless adapter that supports a communication protocol (HART) that is commonly used in automation technology, wherein a first energy supply unit (EE) for energy supply to the wireless adapter and a wireless module (FM) for communication with a higher-level control unit by way of a wireless network (FN) are assigned to the wireless adapter, wherein at least five connection terminals (A, B, C, D, E) are provided at the interface (S), adapted so that part of the connection terminals (A, B, C, D, E) can be connected either to different field device (F1, F2) configurations or to an operating device (BE) depending on the field installation (F1, F2, EEext, BE) to be connected, respectively. |
