The cable coupling for automatic simultaneous coupling of electric leads on railway wagons has firm contact carriers fitted with plug socket elements dividing the contacts into pairs of branch contacts on each side of the coupling halves. The switch contacts have paired switch pins each displaceable in one of the movable contacts and closing the contact to the outside when uncoupled. Only one pin from each pair is insertable when one half is coupled, into the allotted branch contact, the other being pushed into the relevant contact of the other half. This causes the relevant pin of the other half to be pressed into the appropriate branch contact on the firm contact carrier, this being undisplaceable relative to its switch contact carrier and separated from the other switch pin in the pair concerned. |
