<p>The collating accuracy of an image collating unit for collating the registered image and the input image is improved. The image collating unit for collating the input image and the registered image has an image information storage means to store registered images, an image capture means to capture the input image to be collated with the registered image, a sharpness degree detection means to detect the sharpness degree of the image, a sharpness degree difference reduction means for adjusting at least one of the sharpness degrees of the registered image and the input image that are detected by the sharpness degree detection means to reduce a difference between the sharpness degrees of the registered image and the input image, and an image collating means to collate the registered image and the input image where their difference in sharpness degree is reduced by the sharpness degree difference reduction means.</p> |
