<p>Disclosed is a fixing device wherein occurrence of poor image can be minimized by a simple constitution using a pressure distribution in which the pressing force from a pressure pad to a separation member increases gradually. A fixing device comprises a fixing roller which rotates while having an elastic layer and a heating means, an endless fixing belt which is driven by the fixing roller to rotate, a pressure member for pressing the fixing belt from the inner circumferential surface side to bring the fixing belt into pressure-contact with the fixing roller and elastically deforming the fixing belt, and a separation member arranged on the downstream side in the conveyance direction of a recording material with respect to the pressure member and deforming the elastic layer of the fixing roller elastically by pressing the fixing belt from the inner circumferential surface side to bring the fixing belt into pressure-contact with the fixing roller, and fixes a toner image on the recording material being conveyed by a nip portion formed between the fixing roller and fixing belt. The fixing device is characterized in that the surface of the pressure member on the side of the fixing belt is arranged to project to the side of the fixing roller as advancing to the downstream side in the conveyance direction of a recording material.</p> |
