The folding top (11) has front and rear side bars comprising guiding systems arranged on both sides of a central longitudinal plane. Spring clip devices (23) are arranged in a rear area of the folding top and are connected with the guiding systems by control arms of a guide unit. The control arms are articulatedly connected with each other. The control arms are moved into an over-dead center position between the guide systems and the spring clip devices for locking the folding top in a closed position (Schst). An actuating device is engaged at one of the control arms of the guide unit.
