1,055,788. Automatic voltage control. A.G. BOSE. Aug.1, 1963 [Aug.15, 1962; July 19, 1963], No.30602/63. Heading G3R. [Also in Divisions G4, H3 and H4] The output 12 from a stabilized voltage source is fed back over network 93 to a transistor T13 where it is compared with a reference voltage supplied by Zener diode Z2, the difference voltage serving to pulse-width-modulate a free-running pulse generator (see Division H3-H5) comprising transistors T14, T15, T16 and feedback circuit 17. The transistor 16 consequently supplies pulses of current from input 102 to a smoothing network comprising inductor 105 and capacitor 106, the duration of the pulses being controlled so as to maintain the output at terminal 12 equal to the reference voltage supplied by Zener diode Z2. Zener diode Z2 is supplied from a stabilized source including Zener diode Z3. Diode D12 switches on when transistor T16 switches off to maintain current flow in inductor 105. |
