PURPOSE: An apparatus for protecting an image is provided to insert personal information and signature information into an image, thereby protecting the privacy of users. CONSTITUTION: An information collecting unit(106) collects personal identification information inserted into a photographed image. An information processing sunit(108) extracts personal information from the collected personal identification information. An information insertion unit(110) inserts the extracted personal information within the photographed image. An image signature unit(112) signs the photographed image.
