MIXTURES OF BROMINATED DIPHENYL ETHANES AND RESIN COMPOSITION USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A brominated diphenyl ethane mixture is provided to ensure excellent fire retardancy, thermal stability and compatibility with a resin, to impart good impact strength, mobility and thermal stability, and to minimize environment problems. CONSTITUTION: A brominated diphenyl ethane mixture comprises pentabromodiphenylethane0~2 weight%, hexabromodiphenylethane 55~85 weight%, heptabromodiphenylethane 1~20 weight%, octabromodiphenylethane 1~25 weight%, nonabromodiphenylethane 0~10 weight%, and decabromodiphenylethane 0~5 weight%. The brominated diphenyl ethane mixture has 64~81 weight% average bromine content. The resin composition includes the brominated diphenyl ethane mixture as a flame retardant.
