ARC FLASH DETECTION SYSTEM, APPARATUS AND METHOD

PURPOSE: An arc flash detection system and a circuit breaker are provided to reduce the maintenance and operation cost of an electric circuit by reducing disturbance tripping of the circuit breaker. CONSTITUTION: Light is detected from the inside of a circuit breaker(30). A parameter of the circuit breaker is detected. The parameter of the circuit breaker shows the location of a contact arm(36) of the circuit breaker. Response of an arc flash detector is delayed during the fixed period. The circuit breaker is tripped after the fixed period according to the detection state of the light. A process of detecting the parameter of the circuit breaker comprises a step of measuring electric potential between an inlet side and an outlet side.
