POLYSILOXANE POLYMERS, METHOD FOR THEIR PRODUCTION AND THEIR USE

The invention pertains to polysiloxane polymers, methods for their production, and their use as wash resistant hydrophilic softeners. The polysiloxane polymers have repeating units: (see formula I) and (see formula II) wherein: X independently represent a divalent hydrocarbon radical with at least 4 carbon atoms, which is substituted by a hydroxyl group and which is optionally interrupted by an oxygen atom; Y represents a divalent hydrocarbon radical with at least 2 carbon atoms, which is optionally substituted by a hydroxyl group and which is optionally interrupted by one or more oxygen or nitrogen atoms; R1, R2, R3 and R4 independently represent an alkyl group with 1 through 4 carbon atoms or a benzyl group, or R1 and R3 or R2 and R4 are part of a bridging alkylene radical; R6 represents H or an alkyl radical with 1 through 20 carbon atoms, which is optionally oxygen-substituted; E represents -B-O-(EO x)v(PO x)w-B-, wherein: EO x represents an ethylene oxide unit, PO x represents a propylene oxide unit, B represents a straight chain or branched chain C2 through C6 alkylene, v is 0 through 200, w is 0 through 200, and v+w is >= 1; n independently is 2 through 1000; and A- represents an inorganic or organic anion. The polysiloxane polymers of the invention do not exhibit or at least mitigate the disadvantages of the known softeners.
