1279311 Guiding an endless filtering belt SOC FIVES LILLE-CAIL 8 July 1969 [9 July 1968] 34426/69 Heading B1D In a travelling belt filter wherein the endless filter belt is entrained round guide rollers and possibly a vacuum drum, beads 20 on the edges of the belt are nipped between grooved sleeves 16', axially slidable along the ends of a guide roller, and axially slidable pulleys 22, and sleeves 16' are connected by mechanism 40.. 44 inside the roller which constrains them to slide equal distances axially under the pull of springs 34, to tension the belt transversely while maintaining its central position on the roller. Central lever 42 is pivoted to the roller at 44. This mechanism is replaced in Fig. 5 (not shown) by a rack-and-pinion system and in Figs. 1 to 3 (not shown) by a set of lazy tongs fixed centrally of the roller. |
