COLON CANCER DIAGNOSTIC MARKERS USING UP-REGULATED GENES

PURPOSE: A marker for diagnosing colon cancer is provided to determine prognosis and transition of colon cancer and develop anti-cancer drug for colon cancer. CONSTITUTION: A composition for diagnosing colon cancer contains an agent for measuring mRNA level of DPEP1(dipeptidase 1) or LCN2(Lipocalin 2) or their protein level. The agent measuring the mRNA level contains a primer which specifically binds to the gene. The primer has one sequence of sequence number 1 to 36. The agent for measuring protein level contains an antibody which is specific to the protein. A kit for diagnosing colon cancer contains the composition and is RT-PCR kit, DNA chip kit or protein chip kit. A method for providing information for diagnosing colon cancer comprises: a step of measuring mRNA from a biological sample of a patient who possibly has colon cancer; and a step of comparing mRNA level with the mRNA level of a normal control group.
