PURPOSE: A video signal processing apparatus and a method thereof are provided to mix color difference signals to properly adjust a mixing ratio, thereby preventing the deterioration of vertical resolution of the color difference signals. CONSTITUTION: An A/D converter(10) samples an analog composite video signal by using a predetermined system clock. A synchronous processing unit(11) inputs sampled data. The synchronous processing unit detects a vertical synchronization signal and a horizontal synchronization signal. A simultaneous conversion unit(15) outputs two simultaneous color difference signals.
