<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion apparatus, which has a simple configuration, prevents the detection of a transitional change of an output voltage, and allows stable control and where the responsiveness will not degrade. <P>SOLUTION: A step-up converter device generates a PWM signal, by comparing a duty instruction with a symmetric triangular signal. Accordingly, the peaks of crests and valleys of the symmetrical triangular signal come at a timing, when all IGBTs comprising a power conversion circuit are turned on or off. Therefore, the output voltage can be detected, when all IGBTs are in either on or off by holding the output voltage of the power conversion circuit at the timing. As a result of this, the detection of the transitional change of the output voltage generated when on and off states of the IGBT are switched, can be prevented and controlled stably. Moreover, it is not necessary to prepare a filter circuit. Accordingly, the output voltage of the power conversion circuit can be detected with the simple configuration.
