PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balance device for recognizing whether measured weight of an article to be measured is within an allowable weight range using one article file even when an article to be picked has a different indication quantity. SOLUTION: This balance device includes an article file for storing article information about the article, such as information for identifying the article, unit weight, or relative error, determines the allowable weight range from the target quantity, unit weight, and relative error of the article to be measured, and counts the number of the article to be measured when the measured weight of then article to be measured is within the allowable weight range. The balance device includes a relative error setting means for setting a plurality of relative errors as article information in the article file, and a relative error selecting means for selecting an applied relative error from the plurality of relative errors of the article file based on the target quantity of the article to be measured.
