PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change and set a service level automatically in accordance with a utilization frequency in remote maintenance of an image-forming device and notify management equipment of only failure information which conforms to the service level thus set. SOLUTION: The image-forming device changes and sets a service level in accordance with the user utilization frequency of an image-forming device, the service level being given in maintenance to be made when a failure occurs. When failure actually occurs, the image-forming device notifies management equipment of only a failure to which support can be made in accordance with the support level. Further, the image-forming device performs a questionnaire survey, which relates to support, to users, and chooses failure information to be notified, on the basis of the questionnaire survey.
