<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a printing issue of label efficiently while suppressing a power consumption in a label printer which is equipped with two printing heads and is able to perform the printing issue of label from two places. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The label printer 101 has two mechanical units 105, 105a for performing the printing issue of label. A thermal head installed in each mechanical unit is activated alternatively by changing the output destination of a control impulse which is output from a thermal head control circuit by a switch circuit. The label printer 101 is equipped with two motor drivers for conveying a label paper independently each other in each mechanical unit 105, 105a. For example, when a printed label 116 is picked out from a label issuance opening 107 of the first mechanical unit 105, regardless of a printing being under running or not in the second mechanical unit 105a, the label paper is conveyed in the first mechanical unit 105, and an unprinted label is positioned in a predetermined printing position.
