PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately work a spherical surface of an inner wall surface of a hollow work having an opening part with a simple structure. SOLUTION: A tool 40 mounted on a main spindle is inserted into the work W from the opening part formed in the hollow work W (shown in Fig.(a)) to move the tool 40 so that a center of rotation of the tool 40 is substantially orthogonal to a center of rotation of the work W (shown in Fig.(b)). A work chip 49 attached to the tool 40 is rotated by a rotating power from the main spindle and the work W is gradually rotated (shown in Figs.(c) and (d)). As a result, since the spherical surface is worked so as to overlap a circular rotating locus of the work chip 49 thereon, the spherical surface of the inner wall surface of the hollow work W having the opening part formed can be accurately worked with the simple structure.
