PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To predetect the occurrence of earthquake, to use a slave unit as a lighting fixture when power failure occurs due to earthquake, and to reduce power consumption. SOLUTION: When receiving the detection notification of earthquake early warning from a master unit (S210 step), the salve unit of communication equipment performs the lighting or blink of a light emitting member, and interrupts power supply to a radio part for performing radio communication with the master unit (S230, S240 steps). Thus, it is possible to use the slave unit instead of a flashlight, and to reduce (or eliminate) power consumption at the tuner part of the slave unit when earthquake occurs.
