A scaffold coupling comprises a central body 9 having two curved seatings 10, 11 for supporting tubes 7, 8 at an angle to one another and two clamping jaws 22, 23 each pivoted at one end to a lug extending from one end of each seating and secured at the other end by a bolt 18 to a lug extending from the other end of the seating, the central body having a pair of lug reinforcing portions 12a, 13a extending in the direction of the external of the adjacent lug one of which portion has a sharp right angled edge 12b which is curved to engage the tube 8 and bites into the surface of the tube to prevent the coupling slipping when the coupling is under load. The central body has a further pair of lug reinforcing portions which engages the tube 7. |
