<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately divide a substrate regardless of the thickness of the substrate without damaging a protection object region. <P>SOLUTION: A manufacturing process includes: a first step of irradiating laser light L to positions of a base material 10 for a CF substrate, which face respective electrode terminals 16 (protection object regions) of a base material 11 for a TFT substrate, to form reformed region 13; a second step of laminating the base materials 10 and 11; a third step of forming further reformed regions 13 and reformed regions 14 in an inside area of a laminate base material 12 so as to form a matrix together with the reformed regions 13; and a fourth step of making the laminate base material 12 thin by exposing a surface of the laminate base material 12 to an etching solution 5 in a processing solution tank 4 and forming trenches 18 and 19 in respective reformed regions 13 and 14. After these steps, a liquid crystal display panel is produced through a step of dividing the laminate base material into strips and small pieces with an external force (pressure, bending stress, etc.) applied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
