<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic flaw detector and ultrasonic flaw detecting method for preventing generation of an air bubble on a surface of a device under test. <P>SOLUTION: This ultrasonic flaw detector includes a water tank 1 for storing an ultrasonic medium 50, an ultrasonic probe 2 disposed in the water tank 1, an ultrasonic medium temperature sensor 6 for measuring the first temperature of the ultrasonic medium 50, a device-under-test temperature sensor 5 for measuring the second temperature of the device under test 60, and a temperature controller 4.
