PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a versatile mixer which can flexibly respond to mixing, kneading, and granulation of various kinds of mixing materials. SOLUTION: Mixing shafts 6a and 6b are each made to pass through side walls facing a mixing tank 3, and are freely rotatably and pivotally supported, driving motors 12a and 12b for rotary-driving the mixing shafts 6a and 6b are provided on each of the mixing shafts 6a, 6b individually, and also a control device 13 for controlling individually the rotating motion of each of the driving motors 12a, 12b is provided. Further, a pair of arms 8 is firmly fixed to the end of each of the mixing shafts 6a, 6b, and a grinding blade 9 is attached to one of the arms and a scraping blade 10 to the other. When mixing materials are mixed, kneaded, or granulated, plural patterns consisting of combinations of the high-speed and low-speed rotating motions of each of the driving motors 12a, 12b are registered to the control device 13, and the most suitable mixing pattern is selected from these plural mixing patterns.
