PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of efficiently carrying out work in performing image retrieval and image processing/editing while using a number of images. SOLUTION: The imaging device is characterized in that the device includes an information acquisition means, a characteristic detection means, an appending means, and a memory means. The information acquisition means acquires object information indicative of an object and a region of the object using acquired image data. The characteristic detection means detects at least characteristics information in the region of the object. The appending means associates the object information with the characteristic information and appends them to the image data.
