PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: cost for update or extension of the existing programmable controller becomes high due to out-of-production of a product, a change in the specification of a transmission method, or the like; and confirmation work of an updated product at a field on site takes a long time in the above update or extension. SOLUTION: A remote transmission line connection module at a remote IO station side includes a plurality of transmitting/receiving parts for performing signal conversion processing by different transmission methods respectively. Switching of the transmitting/receiving parts is performed on the basis of a changeover switch of the remote transmission line connection module or setting change of a parameter area by a switching signal from the outside. The switching signal by various switching methods for performing setting change of the parameter area is performed by the changeover switch or the like attached to the remote transmission line connection module.
