<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of controlling degradation of fuel electrode at a time of emergency shutdown. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system includes a supply shutdown valve 1 capable of shutting down the supply of an original fuel at a suction side of a sending-out pump 4, and an adsorber 3 installed between the supply shutdown valve 1 and the sending-out pump 4, provided with an adsorbent capable of adsorbing the original fuel and also discharging the adsorbed original fuel when the sending-out pump 4 starts to operate. The sending-out pump 4 has a structure to shut down the flow of original fuel gas between the suction side and the sending-out side during non-operation time of the sending-out pump 4. At the time of emergency shutdown of the fuel cell system, a control means 11 first activates the emergency shutdown control of closing the supply shutdown valve 1, shuts down operation of the sending-out pump 4, a reforming water pump 5 and an air blower 8 in order to shut down the supply of the fuel gas and oxidizer gas to the fuel cell 14, then performs the supply shutdown time operation control of activating the sending-out pump 4 and the reforming water pump 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
