摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyanion type positive electrode active material for improving charge-discharge cycle performance or the like of the lithium secondary battery, and to provide the lithium secondary battery using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The charge-discharge cycle performance or the like can be improved by using lithium iron cobalt phosphate expressed by general formula Li<SB>y</SB>Fe<SB>(1-x)</SB>Co<SB>x</SB>PO<SB>4</SB>(0<x<0.02, 0&le;y&le;1.2) as compared to a case using Li<SB>y</SB>FePO<SB>4</SB>which does not contain Co.
