<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cellulose ester films having positive retardation in the film thickness direction and excellent humidity stability of retardation in the film thickness direction, and useful for liquid crystal display devices excellent in retardation in the film thickness direction and wet heat durability of dimensional change, to provide polarizing plates fabricated by using the cellulose ester film, and to provide liquid crystal display devices comprising the polarizing plate. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a cellulose ester film comprising a cellulose ester having a total degree of substitution (DS) of at least 2.3 and a polymer X having a weight-average molecular weight of 500-100,000, wherein the polymer X satisfies the following formula and the cellulose ester has retardation (Rth) in the film thickness direction of Rth>0 nm. 30%≤A≤100% (wherein A indicates the polymerization ratio of a monomer in the polymer X, whose homopolymer has a negative birefringence when the monomer is polymerized alone). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
