<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially prevent retrieval failure irrespective of limited vocabulary and imagination of an operator who sets a keyword. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A keyword retrieval support device includes: a dictionary consulting means for acquiring related words from a dictionary in accordance with a selected word, associating the related words with the word and outputting the related words; an elaborating means for setting a designated particular one of the related words to be replaced or to be combined with the word; and a retrieval condition generating means for generating a unique keyword which includes the particular related word to be replaced or includes the particular related word to be combined and the word, and using each of the keyword as a retrieval condition.
