<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nuclear magnetic resonance apparatus which can perform NMR lock, even when usual NMR lock in deuterium nucleus is not made. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The nuclear magnetic resonance apparatus has an adapter enabling to convert a frequency of high frequency and to be removable easily which is located between a nuclear magnetic resonance probe and a nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer. This adapter converts the frequency of the high frequency for lock which is transmitted from a lock transmission system of the spectrometer to the probe into the frequency of the observing channel of the requested nucleus having in the probe and supplies it to the observing channel, and irradiates the converted high frequency into a sample located in the probe. And in the adapter after irradiation, the frequency of the nuclear magnetic resonance signal emitted from the requested nucleus in the sample is converted into the frequency of the high frequency for lock, then the converted frequency is received in a lock receiving system of the spectrometer.
