<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent composition that has cleaning capability equivalent to or rather higher than conventional detergent, however gives little burden to environment, has high safety, and can be suitably used for hand spray. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The detergent composition used for hand spray comprises 10-30 wt.% of ethanol, a sucrose fatty acid ester and/or 0.1-5 wt.% of a glycerol fatty acid ester having a hydrophilic lipophilic balance (HLB) of 11-14, 0.5-10 wt.% of at least one selected from sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate, and sodium hydrogen carbonate.
