PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay station apparatus which has a first wireless unit performing transmission and reception using a frequency for communicating with a base station and a second wireless unit performing transmission and reception using a frequency for communicating with a mobile station, and performs follow-up communication after broadcast communication. SOLUTION: In the relay station apparatus 102, while a second wireless unit 112 transmits a broadcast communication signal (TCH (sound data)) to mobile stations 103-1 and 103-2, a transmitter TX provided on a first wireless unit 111 regularly transmits a switching signal (UI signal (for designating a direct communication wireless channel, and for setting a direct communication simplex call)) for switching the mobile stations 103-1 and 103-2 to a broadcast communication channel.
