PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arc tube array type display sub module, as well as a display device, which can alleviate probability of an arc tube array generating troubles at a manufacturing process, even in case there are ruggednesses at a rear-face side of the array. SOLUTION: Of the arc tube array type sub module having an arc tube array with a plurality of arc tubes arrayed in parallel, pinched between an address electrode sheet having address electrodes formed and a display electrode sheet having display electrodes formed, the arc tube array is fixed to a sub-module frame through an intermediate layer formed of a material softer than that of the array and deforming along ruggednesses of the address electrode sheet of the arc tube array.
