ORGANIC EL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen dimensions of a frame in an organic EL display device while retaining a sealing effect of a seal material. SOLUTION: An organic EL layer is formed on a display area 101 formed on an element substrate 10 in a matrix state. The seal material 30 is formed in the vicinity of the element substrate 10 and a sealing substrate 40 in order to protect the organic EL layer from moisture in an external atmosphere. The dimensions of the frame is lessened from an end of the display area 101 to an end of an organic EL display panel while retaining the sealing effect against moisture by making the seal material 30 exist on the ends of the element substrate 10 and the sealing substrate 40.
